Git R Done Mode

YEE HAW! The cabin is closed, I'm finally off of work and I have the whole weekend to myself! I am so psyched to get up in the morning and start putzing around the house! There are leaves to rake, hydrangea bushes to deadhead and my pigsty of a house to get clean! I also have to replenish my stock of birthday and thank-you cards, so be prepped for lots of simple git-r-done kind of cards. I'm going to go back into crank 'em out in multiples mode. I while back I was on a Stampin Up "True Friends" set kick, and I had made a bunch of card backgrounds/layouts with the SU paper that matched it. Well, now is when I use 'em up! ...Tonite I just slapped some images on the front of the already prepped cards. This is one of my favorite fluffles images, the cat passed out from eating too much birthday cake. That's sort of how I feel tonite from eating Lee Ann Chin's chinese food for lunch. I will be skipping dinner for sure. The images are colored in with a mix of copic markers and SU markers. I colored fluffles in with creamy caramel marker and then glued fun flock to him, leaving the fun flock off of his face so that you can still see his nose.

Crafty Secrets at Splitcoaststampers!

Ok, I am back finally! Forgive my lack of posts last night....I wanted to spill the beans last night, but I needed to wait for the announcement over at Splitcoast Stampers! Crafty Secrets (Sandy Redburn & Co) is now a Member Company over at Splitcoast Stampers! What this means, is that there are forums set up where you can see all of the Crafty Secrets promotions, new set announcements, tricks, tips, tutorials, contests, and lots of fun stuff! Thank you to Jenn-the-bomb-Balcer and Lori Craig who have been such dolls helping Sandy get set up and running over at Splitcoast! Today was the announcement that Crafty will be joining Splitcoast, and a release of a new stamp set called "Favorite Fellas", so if you have some time, head on over there and check it all out! The fab design team girls are posting links to all of their cards with the new guy set..check out the thread, as there will be many more samples coming!

So here is my first sample done using the new Favorite Fellas set. I bought the notebook at Michael's 2 weeks ago in the dollar bin. I love these notebooks because of how it's spiral bound..very easy to bend the spirals, take the cover off, and add your embellishments to. I took a hole punch and punched holes in the paper that I adhered to the front.

The notebook paper I used is from Crafty's "Earthy" paper pad...doesn't it look like the paper you used to learn cursive on in grade school? I'm dating myself, aren't I??!! ...Back in my day, we had this paper. ANYWAY, I took some of the paper and made a pocket on the inside of the notebook front cover, so you can put receipts in it. The little tabbies on the side say "Mileage", "Oil", and "Tune-Ups". Now you must know that I had to think long & hard about what to put on these tabs, because I certainly am not organized enough to use this notebook! But I bet the car-loving guy in your life would use it! The map is from an old road atlas that I paid .75 cents for at a thrift shop. I knew it would come in handy some day!The fun little paperclips & binder clips are actually stickers from the "Office Altered" sticker sheet.

The alphabet used on this set is Crafty's medium "Adore" Alpha set. I'll be posting a few more samples over at Splitcoast with this set with the Favorite Fellas' set, if you're interested! WHEW! That was a lotta links!

Tonite's post is a "faux" clipboard that I made last week with the newly released "Boho Blossoms" set from My Favorite Things. I was able to stamp some of these great blossoms off from a friend last week, so I started pairing them up with some brand new Daisy D's "Snowflakes & Holly" "Timeless Holiday Floral paper. I've been WAITING (not so patiently) for this paper to come out since CHA in August. I'm creating thank you cards with them also but haven't finished them yet. This faux clipboard is really just a thick piece of cardboard and a bulldog clip that you can get at Staples. The great thing about these is that you can make your clipboard any size you want, small or large! I got the idea from Making Memories when I was working at Archivers. The sentiment "Decorate Life" is a rub-on that I had in my stash from a while ago.

Blog Candy Giveaway!

One last weekend of running around and then I'm home for the winter! YAY! I love cabin & junking season but there's something to be said for settling in and nesting for the winter. I'm heading up to the cabin to help close it down this weekend.

While I'm gone I decided to do a giveaway for a Crafty Secrets "Journaling" set. This set is the one that has that wonderful script stamp that I've been using constantly. If you didn't get a chance to see my tutorial on glimmer misted script paper, you can see it HERE.

Shop 'till you drop tomorrow!

Just a little reminder that there are only 61 shopping days left until Christmas. Does that scare you at all? Poor Hanna here got a head start on her Christmas shopping and boy, do her feet hurt. Either that or she dropped over in a dead faint when her Visa bill maxed out.

I used a combination of the original Hanna shopping set and the soon-to-be-released set, "Tis the Season". To get this effect I stamped her purse first, masked it off with a post-it-note, and then positioned Hanna laying down over the top of it. All of the gift bags were done by stamping onto scraps of patterned paper, cutting out the gift bags and gluing them to the card front. The sentiment was typed out on my computer and printed onto white cardstock.

More is more!

I didn't think I was going to be able to post tonite because I had a work dinner to go to. I was glad that my girlfriend Tara was late getting to my house because I had time to sit and color a little more with the new "Tis the Season" Hanna Stamp set that will be released on Friday. before she got here! I had stamped off this great saying from friend AngFab who always has the cutest girlie stamp sayings..."Less is not more. More is more." I'm not sure who makes that stamp, but I NEED IT! I thought it would be good to stack up a big pile of Christmas presents because Hanna seems like a really good shopper to me. I decided to make her skirt into culottes by drawing a line up the middle with black marker to create legs, and then drawing short cuffs on the pant bottoms. Her boots are suede of course, done up in brown fun flock. The bonus is that this fun striped "Candy Cane" paper from Deja Views has a cute little notebook pattern on the backside, so you get double use out of the paper, diagonal stripe on one side, blue notebook on the other. I thought it would be cute to have Hanna's Christmas list on here. This is a tall card so that I could get all the elements onto the card. Because More is More, of course.
