YAY YAY YAY! RILEY moose has arrived in St. Paul! What a fun mail day for me! Kristi from Hanna Stamps is going to be introducing a new line of stamps featuring this awesome little moose named Riley! Riley will debut on Feb. 1st at the Hannastamps website! You can read more about Riley on Kristi's blog HERE. Check out the HAN-TASTIC design team blogs listed on the right, and you will start seeing lots of sneak peeks of Riley coming up in the next week or so. Hanna stamps is now a member of Splitcoast stampers, so you can catch up on all the latest buzz and hang with the sweet design team girlies over HERE.
So on to my first Riley sample. A few weeks ago I got a sweet email from Terry @ Creative Cuts and More. Terry is based out of Parker, Colorado, and has an online die-cut business with a gallery full of fun boxes, purses, and die-cuts! You go online, pick a box, a cardstock color (or acetate), tell her how many boxes you need and then she cuts them out and sends them to you! I had no clue that a company existed like this! Anyway, being that I'm burnt out on always posting card samples, I asked her if she'd send me a few so I could try them out. So it's perfect timing for Valentine's day...you'll be seeing some fun box samples coming up. The great thing is, you can order one, or 5 or 10 of the same box, in the same color, any color you want. And there's quantity discounts too. I got the acetate puff boxes, which are 1.00 each, and then bought bulk candy (big boxes of junior mints) to fill these with. For less than $2.00 each in supplies, you have a super cute gift. (Not including the stamp, of course.)
These were easy to put together (they come already scored) but I will caution you, you need a strong tape to hold the box together. What worked best for me is wonder tape, but if you have anything comparable & super strong, you'll want to use it. Regular mono-adhesive/dotto didn't work for me on the acetate boxes.
I cut the patterned belly-band strip on a diagonal at the end, so that it layed properly on the back of the box. In my effort to be frugal and save on wonder-tape, I did use regular dotto adhesive on the paper part of this box.
Riley was colored in with copic markers, and the steam from his hot cocoa is glittered up with white glitter (SU). I came up with the "Chocolate Moose" saying while I was driving home from work tonite, and printed it off on my computer when I got home.
I have one more box sample to post tomorrow night, and then I won't have time to play Riley again until Saturday! DANG! NEW STAMPS IN THE HOUSE AND NO TIME TO PLAY!!!!!!!

Hi. What a cute project. I, too, have purchased from Creative Cuts and More, and they have great products. But did you know that they also sell a tacky tape that comes on a 36 yard roll that costs less than 1 cent per inch? I use it all the time for my personal work and in classes. It's great! You should look into it. It beats any thing that you can find elsewhere.
I will continue to read your blog as you have wonderful ideas. Thanks for Sharing.
