Scrapbooking for a Cause

I'm going to switch gears and go all "Christmas" on you for tonite. I've been working on this box of Christmas ornaments to donate to the Young Survivor Coalition's Crop being held in Duluth, MN on October 13th. I met the sweetest, most hardworking chick ever at CHA in Chicago in August. Her name is Alane and she and her Scrapbook Royalty girls are working hard to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Alane was diagnosed with breast cancer at about the same age as I was, 27 years old! TOO YOUNG! Sandy at Crafty Secrets introduced us, and I decided I wanted to contribute a stamp set and a handmade gift for them to raffle off. Look how cute Alane is! She's wearing the Crafty Secrets "Spoolie Bra" that Vicki Chrisman designed. All of these ornaments were done with the .99 cent Michael's paper mache ornaments, using the Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas stamp set. I used the cracked glass technique on all of the images, and my favorite swirl from the Cherubs set. The paper used is all from Cosmo Cricket's new Christmas paper line, "Be Good". I found this cool tinselly garland at Michaels, and it reminded me of vintage garland. It's in a roll in the Christmas trims section. The round box is from their wood boxes section, and fits the ornaments perfectly!

I love these! The embossing gives that glass-like effect and the tinsel definitely gives a vintage touch. They're really beautiful!
