Procrastination.

Oh man, I should be packing right now. This is procrastination at it's finest. But I NEEDED to play in the Crafty Secrets weekly challenge over at Splitcoast! It's not my fault, I got tempted!
I have been itching to ink up the new Crafty Secrets "Sweet Kids" stamp set and play with the sweet images from this set. This set hasn't been released yet, but will be available after CHA in late February. Since I'm sort of challenged when it comes to creating my own landscapes & I don't own a Copic airbrush system, I found an easy cheater way to create backgrounds for your stamps that have sky and ground. Geez, I even put a tutorial together for you guys. I DON'T WANT TO PACK! I HATE PACKING (whine, whine, whine, whine.)! Ok, here's how I did the background. Here's what you need: blue ink, green ink, a distressed background block (mine is Hero Arts, but SU has a sanded background that works too.)

Stamp off your image in a black ink. If I'm watercoloring I use Ranger Archival Black, if I'm "copic-ing", then I use Brilliance Black.

Stamp the image off again on lightweight copy paper or a post-it note. Here I cut the entire landscape image off, and left only the fence posts and the boy.

Lay your copy-paper image over your cardstock image. (This is called a mask.)

Take your background block, and ink ONLY THE bottom part of it up with your green ink.

Take your blue ink and ink up the top part of the rest of the block. Overlap the ink just a bit so that the blue runs into the green.
Stamp it over the top of your image, eye-balling it so that the green is over the ground part of the boy image, and the blue is over the top of him.
EASY! QUICK! CHEAP! SHABBY!
Color in the rest of your image as desired.
Dang. I have to pack now, don't I.
