I made this mermaid card over the 4th of July at the cabin. She's from a piece of patterned paper from Crafty's "Pastel" Paper Pad . Remember my excellent junking adventure a few weeks ago? Well I had bought this great book of vintage sheet music for a dollar, and while flipping through it at the cabin, discovered that SO many of the songs are PERFECT themes to use with Crafty Secret's products! I decided that instead of destroying the entire sheet of music for a card, that I'd scan it into my computer and SHRINK IT DOWN so that it's a miniature size for using on cards!
I've attached the scan if you'd like to try this at home with your computer...just right click the sheet music, click "save as" and save it into a file folder.
I'm sure there's an easier way to do it, but I opened up a word document, copy/pasted the sheet music onto it, and then sized it smaller on the word document (by stretching the image) to approximately 2 1/2 x 3 1/4. You can print off a bunch on one sheet of paper or cardstock, cut it out, and then take a distress ink and go around the edges to dirty it up. Then use it on your projects!
I'd love to see any mini sheet music cards that you come up with, so be sure to email me a link so that I can link to your blog or gallery! I'll post more for you as we go, and Sandy from Crafty Secrets has also been posting themed sheet music on the Crafty blog! Make sure to stop by and check it out!
