I have been in a VALENTINEY mood for 2 weeks now, after playing with the new release Valentine Hanna over xmas vacation! I'm so glad for DOWNTIME so that I can get a headstart on making my own Valentine cards this year! No need to repeat my xmas card fiasco, where I mailed them out 5 days before xmas. Geez Louise, I had a whole year to do them, you would think I could have started a bit earlier than Dec. 19th!
I'll be posting 7 days of Hanna valentines on my blog this week... a new sample every day! The new valentine set will be released this Friday, January 4th. Hanna has short hair in this set.... she's the cutest! I ran to Archivers on my way to my parents house last week, and they had tons of yummy valentine paper in, and I went a little nuts. The paper I used here is by Cloud 9 design, called "Sparkle Circles of Love/Be Loved". It has shiny sparkles of glitter embossed onto the circles. The sentiment with this set is so perfect because it can be used to imply that you need more lipstick for KISSING or from EATING CHOCOLATE (my 2 favorite things to do on Valentines day!)
There is just something about RED AND PINK that puts me in a good mood. This card is a modified buckle card, in that it has the buckle arm that swings open so you can open the card up. I got a little tricky and cut a slit in one of the circles so you can tuck the arm of the sentiment into the slit to close the card. Hanna is sporting a red velvet fun flock dress, and there is a fun flock mat around the bright red lipstick kiss (I SO NEED MORE NESTIES!). I discovered that the girls look less make-uppy if you put their eyeshadow just on the outer edges of her brow, instead of going all the way across her eyes. Revlon taught me that. :)
Take care and drive safe tonite, everyone! L.
