#1 Dad!

Pull out those guy stamps, ladies; Dad's day is coming up Sunday! I'll have guy samples for you this week in honor of dear old Dad's day! This is an oldie but goodie set from Stampin Up called "Classic Pickups". I never thought I'd have so much fun with a guy set as I have with these pickups! Because this truck has flames along the edges, they're fun to color and pretend you're doing a custom paint job to match your patterned paper!

I also used my Stampin Up collage alphabet & numbers set to stamp "No. 1 Dad" on the insides of these cards! I actually also made some into "Congratulations" cards, which can be used for promotions or teen report cards, etc! I still have my Stampin up Tire wheel also, and couldn't resist making skid marks across the card. The paper is old Basic Grey Phresh & Phunky "Pherris wheel" paper. I love the older basic grey patterns and have been hoarding them for a while now! Tim Holtz Green "Peeled Paint" Distress ink was used around the card edges (Thanks Pine!). Copic colors used (from Eclectic Paperie) : Ice Ocean(teal blue/BG72), Pale Olive (truck base YG95), Spanish Olive (YG97) for the darker truck areas, (Putty YG91) for bumpers, and Warm Grey 2(W2) for the hubcaps, grill, lights and outline of the truck.

I was able to get my curtains up and my stamp room guest table shoveled off this weekend! The curtains make it so bright and cheery in there! Now I need to figure out what to do with the other pair!

Here's a closeup so you can see how vivid and pristine they are! No fading on them at all! And the birdies I picked up are making a nest in some beautiful velvet ribbon that was gifted to me by friend Carol Halvorson.

I scored the 4 little spice jars at the garage-sale-around-the lake.....75 cents for 4 of them! Carol gave me the coffee/tea/sugar jars for my birthday last year....they match perfectly!
Here's how I've been working on my projects lately...when an idea comes into my head or I start a project, I've been lining them up on the table with all of the patterned paper or images that I want to use. Then I grab a project and work on it when I have a chance! The Dad's day cars project above was one of the latest line-up!
Hope your week has gotten off to a good start! Happy Monday!

Your room looks very cheery and pleasant!! What is the flowered case to the right of your bowl of ribbons and birdies? It's adorable and was just curious!!
