Vintage lace

Ok, I'm sure you guys are getting sick of the Paper Salon "Pristine" paper. I promise I'm moving on to different paper soon!

What I really wanted to show you guys was this vintage lace that I got in a huge lot of vintage craft supplies from an auction I was at a few summers ago. I'm a big fan of re-using old loved items, and I love this flowery blue lace that was in the box that I got for 50 cents. Seriously, even if you don't have a clue what's in the box, if a box goes for 50 cents at an auction, GRAB it. It's worth the entertainment value alone, and there could be some HUGE treasure in there! This was my treasure, along with a few other plain colors of lace. I know sometimes when you get old stuff from auctions, it has that 'old lady' perfumey smell. I've found that in general, oxi-clean will get that smell out, and also stains to boot. I soak the lace in my kitchen sink full of hot water and oxi-clean. Also, Febreeze is a great way to freshen stuff up. Friend Debbi Thwaits also soaks her stampin' scrub pads in oxi-clean, to get out the black ink. So your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to check out those garage sales and estate sales for older craft items. You may be able to use them and you'll have a one-of-a-kind card!

Your card is gorgeous. I love the blue lace you used. I'm so glad I found you. Ended up finding you through a comment you left on a blog (Step Away from the Scissors, I think).

That is some gorgeous old lace, esp. paired up with the dotted ribbon for some chunkiness. LOVE everything you've been doing with this great paper.
